Man vs Wine tour is a day where Jesse guides you through a day with knowlegde and enthusiasm about wine, introduces you to great wines and he is good company to be around to make it a unforgettable day. The wine selections were good because we knew it was selected with care but we know that the chateaus themselves also were selected with care so we just trusted on Jesse’s opinion. But we did try and taste for ourself and bought as a result of this tasting. We would definitely recommend it. We choose to have lunch accomponied by Man vs Wine. Jesse brought us to this beautiful place to lunch and we enjoyed the lunch, the place and the company because it gaves us a chance to talk about wine, food and life. We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. It exceeded our expactations. We were very excited about our day with Man vs Wine. But exciting as well to meet a new person who you are gonna spend a day with and see of you can have a connection. Jesse came to our accommodation with croissants, and we immediatly hit it off. "Jesse was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and Bordeaux, has amazing enthusiasm, has a great sense of humour and such a lovely and enjoyable person to spend the day with. He made our whole day seamless and fun and went the extra mile for us. It's a very personal tour and Jesse is totally flexible but the best thing is to leave it all in his hands and you wont be disappointed. Jesse introduced us to wines we didn’t know and also smaller producers whom produce equally as good wines as the big players but you get a much more personal experience and more affordable wines. His selections were great and different from the run of the mill wines and producers that you read about. Lunch was a 10/10 and one of the best meals I’ve had in France! I was surprised by how easy it was to spend the day with Jesse and how informative he was of everything Bordeaux. Going to small producers and having a very real experience was incredible.

Jesse organised a lovely and unique day for us in St Emilion! We visited two local chateaux, the tour was very personal. They had so much passion and enthusiasm for what they did which they loved to share! Their wines were delicious and we would never have found them without Jesse!
Jesse arranged everything for us and the day was seamless! Jesse also arranged a delicious lunch in a fabulous French restaurant. The food was incredible and the setting was beautiful overlooking the vineyards of St Emilion! Jesse's recommendation of wine for lunch was also exquisite!

"We had a wonderful day with Jesse and highly recommend his services to anyone looking to discover more about wine in the Bordeaux region. Jesse is hugely knowledgeable and passionate about wine and the region and imparts this knowledge in an easy and entertaining manner. The three chateaux Jesse selected were little-known independent producers making great, high quality wine. The final chateau in particular was a real hidden gem. "Having experienced wine tasting events, I thought I knew what to expect from Man vs Wine...but this one was very different to anything experienced previously! Jesse's passion and knowledge gave this tour a completely new dimension and, of course, he is a fluent French speaker so translation services are part of the package! He educated us from grape to bottle. He has an amazing palate and was very quick to understand mine, and therefore guide me in the right direction. He selected his chateaux for the tour based on their excellence in wine production, picking out little known local producers of high quality, each of which proved to be exceptionally hospitable for our party. Jesse arranged a wonderful lunch venue for the group and joined us. This proved exceptionally useful as, using his knowledge, he was able to pick out the hidden treasure in the wine selection which we would all have missed. During the lunch he was able to impart further fascinating and useful information to us all - the lunch would not have been the same without him. If you're thinking of experiencing a Wine Tour in France, I would highly recommend Man vs Wine but make sure you have Jesse with you - you'll miss out on so much if you go it alone."

Jesse was a true highlight in our near 2-year wedding planning journey, and certainly on our wedding day at the beautiful Chateau de Garde! A fellow Virginian, effervescent spirit, and all-around GREAT guy (you know when you know someone just has a heart of gold), we felt right at home working with him to source the most stunning assortment of wines from the Bordeaux region for two days of wedding events. We are far from wine connoisseurs! Jesse spent a full day with us 6-months in advance of our wedding driving here, there, and everywhere across the Bordeaux region introducing us to the most delightful chateau owners to taste dozens of wines. He is incredibly well-respected in his field, super organized, and went to all lengths to make our vision come to life. Jesse kept meticulous notes throughout the entire experience, and worked with us for months after our visit to help us chart a plan for wines us to fit the dishes served at each meal, and our budget. We would have been absolutely intimidated and lost without him. When we arrived to Chateau de Garde for our wedding, all of the wines we selected had been delivered and sorted – magic!

Not only is Jesse incredibly knowledgeable about the science of wine, how to source it, how to drink it, and how to properly santé, he was a true highlight for all of our wedding guests to interact with. Every single guest remarked what a delight it was to chat with Jesse, and how they actually retained the fun wine knowledge he was sharing with them because his delivery was easily understandable – even after a few glasses. Definitely worth having him there on the day-of to impart his wine wisdom!

Jesse nailed the entirety of the wedding wine process, but he was also a wealth of knowledge for many an off-the-wall request/random question we threw at him as Americans getting married in France who do not speak French. When we learned that nary a one of our groomsmen were proficient in bow-tying, Jesse was there 30 minutes before the ceremony ensuring each one of the lads were perfectly tied and ready. Random equipment rental questions at the local home improvement store? Jesse answers the phone and has answers.

By the end of our wedding planning journey, I was in literal tears bidding Jesse adieu after such a fun experience but felt like we had gained a true friend and know we will absolutely be keeping in touch with him for all things wine, and beyond! We could not recommend Jesse more highly, he is an incredibly special human to engage with and made the wine selection, acquisition, and delivery one item during our wedding that I did not have to think twice about!

We just had the most amazing wedding celebration, and when it came to thanking the people who helped make it possible we came to the conclusion that Jesse made our wedding. We asked Jesse to not only help us select and source fantastic wines from the region, but also to walk our guests through a tasting the day before the wedding and to bring our wedding group on a tour of several wineries (including a winery that he sourced some of our wines from) the day after the wedding. Over several days that will go down as the best of our lives, Jesse knocked it out of the park again and again. We only wanted 3 things for our wedding: good food, good wine, and good friends. Jesse took care of the “good wine” part of the equation, and in spending time with him he managed to also become a part of the “good friends” part of the equation.

One of the things we love most about wine is the passion surrounding it. Jesse not only exemplifies this passion, but he shines a light on the passion of others as well. I think at the most basic level Jesse cares. He cares about the wine, the region, the winemakers – and their families. This means we got to taste wines that we would otherwise not have had the chance to, our entire wedding group gained a greater appreciation of wine regardless of how knowledgeable they were going into it, and as a result we are now in love with the Bordeaux region. I do not expect that you would get these same lofty results with anyone else you entrust to procure alcohol for a wedding, and I know you would not get this from any other tour.

Perhaps as an extension of Jesse’s passion and how much he cares, what really stood out to us was that he just kept taking care of us and going above and beyond. During our tour he brought us to a wonderful wine bar and helped us select some of the singularly most impressive glasses of wine that we have ever had. He approached the task with a level of academic fervor you would expect from someone studying for the biggest test of their life – not someone who had been stuck with us for the past 9 hours. Following the wedding we found ourselves with the unique problem of having leftover wine. There was too much for us to bring home in our luggage, but as a result of Jesse selecting such amazing wines we could not stomach the idea of leaving what are now incredibly sentimental wines behind. Jesse again stepped up and helped us sort out shipping so that we would not need to leave wine behind, and even drove to come pick up the wine from us. We could go on and on about how amazing Jesse is, but it is probably something that is best seen for yourself.
